Job description
As a Junior Insights Data Scientist – Transaction Monitoring, you will deliver data-driven insights and build automated pipelines and workflows based on transaction data from over 8 million Rabobank customers. Your work enables colleagues to make better-informed decisions in identifying and preventing financial crime.
To be effective, we rely on curious and motivated professionals like you—people who enjoy diving into data, patterns, and customer behaviour to uncover suspicious or illegal activities. Together with your team, you will be responsible for generating insights into our current Transaction Monitoring (TM) system and supporting its continuous optimisation. This role requires a strong combination of technical and analytical skills, along with the ability to visualise and clearly communicate your findings. When done well, your work allows operational analysts to focus on true positive alerts and spend their time on activities that truly add value. In short, you will be on the front line of the fight against financial crime. Team Composition You will join a team of 8 professionals, including a Product Owner, Scrum Master, and a diverse mix of Data Scientists and Data Analysts. Your Top 3 Responsibilities
Develop and improve data pipelines for tuning, lookbacks, and impact analyses, combining complex TM model components in a smart and efficient way.
Perform end-to-end analyses, from intake and coding to visualisation and presenting insights to stakeholders.
Design and build production-ready dashboards, covering both front-end and back-end, to support rule tuning, rule development, and insight into daily transaction monitoring detection.
Practical Examples of Your Work
Estimating the impact of proposed parameter changes in the TM model on overall effectiveness and efficiency.
Optimising workflows to enable tuning across a broader range of parameter combinations.
Building dashboards in collaboration with platform squads and bringing them into production, such as:
A TM rule performance dashboard to optimise detection rules
An overview dashboard providing system-wide TM insights
A transaction dashboard to support the development of new TM rules
